About
The builder and the scholar.
Sobo Consulting is built and led by the two of us, with a small team behind the back office. We run our own for-profit and our own nonprofit, and we have spent years inside the systems we now help others build.
Our story
We did not start as consultants. Remi was running a youth nonprofit and building the platform it needed, because no one else was going to. Kendra was earning her PhD in education at Stanford, studying how people learn and change, and bringing it home to our own kids.
We kept finding the same thing from two directions. The people cared. The infrastructure around them did not hold. A program with heart and no system. A classroom with a teacher and no structure to carry the culture. A home full of love running on inherited habits.
So we built. Remi built the systems. Kendra developed the practice. Somewhere in there it became a company.
That is Sobo Consulting. We develop the people and we build the tool, and we set it up to last, because we have watched what happens when it does not.
We live this too. We lead YoungLife and YGB, Young, Gifted, and Black, a community of Black families on the peninsula raising our kids together. That is where the conviction comes from: young people thrive in community, inside systems that hold.

Runs Ambition Angels, a youth nonprofit, and builds the systems and platforms institutions operate on. He has developed young people, led the organization, raised the money, and shipped the platform. The leadership and the backend.

A teacher and scholar of how people learn and change, with a PhD in education from Stanford. She brings the research and the years in the room to the question underneath all of it: what actually forms a person. The scholarship and the practice.

Shannon Fair
Operations, finance, compliance, and HR
Runs operations for Ambition Angels, and brings years of back-office work from the for-profit world. Admin, finance, compliance, and HR, the parts of an organization that have to hold for everything else to work. When a team needs steady hands on the back office while it grows, Shannon is who we bring.
