Sobo Consulting is a small practice. The people you meet are the people doing the work.
Remi owns the plan, the money model, and the build. He founded and runs Ambition Angels, so the nonprofit operating problems this practice works on are problems he lives inside: the pipeline that has to get worked every week, the budget the board asks about, the platform nobody has time to maintain.
He also takes embedded leadership work when an organization needs somebody inside the job for a season, usually development leadership or the operating cadence.
Kendra holds a PhD in education from Stanford and spent six years forming aspiring teachers through the Stanford Teacher Education Program. She owns how adults learn a practice and how an organization shows what changed.
On a nonprofit build that means the impact framework and the evidence a funder reads. In a school it means professional learning designed for adults who are already tired, and a way to tell in March whether the practice is holding.
Shannon holds the back office. On a client engagement that can mean the three-year budget, the finance visibility a director needs before a board meeting, compliance, and the HR paperwork that piles up in a small organization. She takes it for a defined season while the organization builds the capacity to carry it, then hands it back with documentation.
Why the practice exists
Good people end up carrying what a system should hold.
We made the expensive mistakes on our own dime. Ambition Angels, Trellis, and Roots and Wings are ours, and running them taught us which systems hold under a small team and which ones look good in a deck and die in March.
That is also why implementation matters so much to us. A plan that nobody runs is a document. We would rather stay through the part where a team learns to use what we built.
The why
The work keeps coming back to young people.
A nonprofit that runs better serves more young people. A school with stronger systems supports the adults who support the students. A home that runs with rhythm gives a child something steady to grow inside. Ambition Angels is direct youth work, and many of the organizations we build for serve young people too.
That is where our attention goes first. The method holds anywhere good people are carrying what a system should hold.
